Autosport International 2019 Highlights

WDA Kick Off The New Year With Autosport International

One of the closest and most enjoyable shows on WDA’s calendar, Autosport International is a key event which kicks off the new year with 2 trade days of client meetings, and the chance to keep fingers firmly on the pulse in terms of industry trends, new product launches and gathering the market intelligence our clients rely on to give them a competitive advantage.

From a marketing perspective Autosport represents a fantastic platform for exhibitors to boost brand visibility and to showcase new products and services – and to a much wider audience than those physically attending the show thanks to the heavy social media and press coverage. It’s also a great opportunity for brands to engage in face-to-face marketing – connecting with customers, listening to their feedback, and hopefully building brand loyalty and forging long term relationships.

Porsche 935

Star of the show 2019: The 2019 Porsche 935 ‘Moby Dick’

Revealed at the exclusive ‘Rennsport Reunion’ event in California a few months ago, and based around GT2-RS underpinnings, this 2019 version of our favourite ‘70’s Porsche is limited to a production run of just 77 cars and a price tag of nearly £700k. Great also to see ex WDA employee Dan Bathie on the stand acting as official Porsche photographer for the event.

WRC 2019 liveries

Citroen, M-Sport Ford and Hyundai all released their 2019 schemes at the show. Perhaps we’re biased but WDA client M-Sport’s new “nitrous blue” Fiesta scheme (which was last used in 2016) was arguably the most impactful, with the Red Bull-inspired livery of the previous two seasons following Ogier over to Citroen.

2019 Urban Automotive G-Wagon

Over in the Performance & Tuning Car zones, North London-based SUV customisers Urban launched their heavily modified Urban G-Wagon, which was very popular with the audience and was one of the most shared cars on social media.

Nero Design Aventador S and Urus

YouTube sensation (and supercar customiser) Yiannimize was also smashing it on social, thanks to two outrageous Nero Design Lamborghinis – wrapped in turquoise chrome. WDA’s design jury is still out on these creations, although they certainly got some serious attention, with the pics WDA’s official media partners took getting picked up and shared by Yianni.
