WDA were delighted to attend the very first MotorsportDays.LIVE event at Silverstone Circuit last week. MsD.Live is a 2-day trade event aimed at bringing motorsport industry professionals together with the opportunity for potential customers to get out onto the track in a live product test environment. Based at the Silverstone Wing facility, the event also gave brands exhibition opportunities above the pit garages, with plentiful parking on the doorstep. The maiden event was well attended and featured lots of thrilling track action thanks to near perfect weather conditions.
“Supporting new initiatives like MsD.Live is important for WDA for many reasons,” says WDA’s Lee Waterhouse. “As a business specialising within the Automotive industry, WDA has clients within a broad range of sectors, including motorsport, and being active in attending and promoting as many activities which help raise the profile and develop those sectors has always been a priority for us. With our racers hat on, any event which has the potential to enhance grids by making it easier to get on track has got to be welcomed. Additionally, the central location meant we were also able to pull in several client meetings. We look forward to future MsD Live events and if the first was anything to go by then they promise to be very exciting indeed.”
Great to see…
WDA client Diamondbrite and their Honda Civic Type-R grime car which Lance had driven up from Maidstone. They’ve clearly been spending too much time making everyone else’s cars look shiny!
Another of our clients, Scorpion Exhausts, who support the Mini Challenge, were showing off their racing Mini right outside the entrance.
For those that were unable to get on track, there was plenty of VR racing opportunities, with some pretty stunning simulator rigs on show. The quality and realism demonstrating just why the popularity of VR is rising further within our industry, both as a training tool and also as a marketing and audience participation activity.
A blast from the past was this immaculate TWR tuned 1984 Rover SD 1 3500 – eligible for Historic Touring Car racing and currently for sale at £125k
Ligier’s new Formula Free JS P4 looked very menacing in bare carbon.
