Motorcycle Live 2017

We’ve got the ‘post Motorcycle Live blues’ here at WDA so we thought we’d put together a little low-down of our time there and all of the exciting things we saw and the incredible exhibition design that went into some of the brands exhibiting.

Motorcycle enthusiasts all over the globe know the sheer scale of the event, but just as a reminder It was nine day that welcomed almost 110,000 motorcycle enthusiasts into the NEC in Birmingham. Leading brands such as Yamaha, Suzuki, Honda and Harley Davidson set up spectacular stands to wow the avid bike fans in attendance.

We particularly enjoyed chatting with Knox Armour, WDA were there at the start for their very first bike show and it was great to see how much they and their exhibition design has evolved – right down to the logotype which has grown and developed from it’s original cartoon style into what you see below. From the relatively new to the an absolute classic, we loved seeing Brough Superior Motorcycles which were originally manufactured just down the road from WDA’s very first studio in Nottingham.

WDA are great believers in delivering show experiences designed to engage the audience, and it was great to see some brands really getting show-goers involved. BMW Motorrad were one of several brands giving people a chance to get hands-on within their GS Experience arena. WDA client Yamaha again delivered their amazing Dark Side MT Tour giving licensed motorcyclists the opportunity to take a massive selection of models out for a test ride. They also displayed their brand new 847cc NIKEN 3 wheeler which looks amazing.

In addition there were opportunities for youngsters to get involved on the arena cross mini-tracks, and a ‘Rookie to Rider’ taster for new riders. There was also the ever impressive FMX Live by Arenacross. They wowed crowds with what we thought was their most daring stunts to date whilst over on the Black Horse stage saw MotoGp’s Johann Zarco performing back flips! A pretty thrilling end to 2017 in our eyes!

We weren’t there just for fun though, as a specialist Automotive agency we were kept very busy supporting exhibiting clients, taking in a range of meetings and generally keeping abreast of the sectors branding, marketing and exhibition design output. Motorcycle Live rounds off a busy season of big shows which has seen WDA deliver support at Autosport, Automechanica, AM Live and EICMA – with Motorcycle Trade Expo next month!

In addition to the shows, WDA offers a whole range of award winning specialist services from brand and campaign creation to digital marketing and creative services. If you are in the automotive sector and looking for a specialist perspective, get in touch today and find out what we can do to help drive your brand.
