Gemma Lovett & Matt King join WDA

WDA are delighted to announce the appointment of one of Derby’s best known and loved Agency Superstars – Miss Gemma Lovett.

Finalist in the Fastest 40 Awards Most Creative People in the East Midlands category, Gemma had a long spell as Director at a local agency and joins WDA for a fresh new challenge and opportunity for career progression and development.

Commenting on the new appointment Managing Director Lee Waterhouse said: “Gemma worked for WDA for a period after graduating and we have remained good friends ever since – even though we were sometimes pitching against one another!

“Over the years Gemma has developed into one of those very rare creatives who is not only a brilliant designer but also a great marketing strategist and a skilled account manager.

“Gemma is going to be a real asset to the team, her experience will be invaluable and I believe that given the right support and framework she will flourish and help take the agency to another level – In fact she’s already been instrumental in winning WDA a prestigious new account which we are all delighted about. “Now her appointment has been announced we’ve stocked up on extra coffee and biscuits as I’m expecting there’s a lot of people who will want to pop in and say ‘Hi’! “

“I’m really looking forward to getting stuck into my new role” Said Gemma “Headed up by Creative Director, Chris Redshaw, I really believe we now have a pretty much unbeatable creative team, and I’m looking forward to playing my part in realising WDA’s exciting growth plans”

Gemma is a lifelong speed freak travelling Europe and as far as Singapore last year to watch F1, whilst closer to home Gemma is a Shelley Walsh hill climb fan and also a keen World and British superbike fan.

Also joining the team this month is Matthew King as creative designer.

WDA has known Matt since he was recommended to us by Derby University and we met him at their annual Big Show. We have seen Matt several times since he graduated and remained in touch seeing his work and experience develop over the years which has included working agency and client side as well as freelance

Matt comes to us with an already superb portfolio and a determination to put everything into his new role and push himself to the limit. His is currently part of the team working on a major rebranding for a large automotive e-tail client incorporating a front end web design.

F1 fanatic Matt says his dream car is currently the Aston Martin DB11. His current daily (a Polo) was a WRC inspired purchase however it remains to be seen if he will follow hero Seb Ogier into a Ford any time soon.

Matt’s prior Automotive experience includes design and content work F2, BTCC and Donington Park.
